Child and Trauma Introduction: Trauma is one of the most difficult challenges to overcome. It is can take a lot of time to release trauma, therefore patience is very important, as well as persistence. Trauma is a painful incident or event than places stress on the brain and nervous system. Children who have gone through trauma require a lot of support.

Here are some helpful tips for parents or anyone else who is taking care of a child who has gone through trauma and has not released it:
- Be Supportive, Positive, and Loving. Always be there for the child. Show love and kindness. A positive environment is necessary. Do not let them be around anyone that is negative. Protect the child. Make sure the child is safe.
- Participation in Activities. Allow children to participate in activities they enjoy, whether it is a hobby, playing outside, reading a book, listening to music, and more.
- Healthy Diet. This is a must for children. The majority of a child’s diet should consist of organic cooked vegetables for minerals. Make sure they eat natural foods prepared at home. Do not let children consume sugar, foods or beverages with chemical additives, wheat, soy, refined foods, juices, soda pop, fruit, junk food, and more.
- Healthy Lifestyle. Make sure children go to bed before 9 p.m. and sleep a minimum of 8-9 hours each night. Naps are also excellent. Only gentle exercise is recommended, such as walking, but no vigorous exercise. Keep toxic body care and cleaning products out of the home where the child resides. Only buy products with all natural ingredients.
- Mindfulness. Quieting the mind is important for children who have gone through trauma. A great way for a parent or child care provider to learn about mindfulness is through a book called “Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle. After reading this excellent book, you can teach the child a mindfulness exercise to be practiced daily. Trauma brings energy up the body, which is not helpful. Mindfulness assists in bringing energy down the body and has many benefits.
- Child and Trauma: Gentle Therapy. The issue with some trauma therapies available is that they are too stimulating for the nervous system. Gentle trauma therapy is ideal for children. One of the best gentle trauma therapies is called Cranial Sacral Balancing, which uses no more than 5 grams of pressure and addresses the core structure of the nervous system. It is a light-touch therapy that balances the cerebrospinal system.
- Other Healing Modalities. Other modalities that compliment Cranial Sacral Balancing nicely is Hair Analysis, which balances the minerals in the cells of the body and increases the body’s vitality. Increased vitality will bring up a hidden trauma to the present moment and then in time, it is released. Additionally, gentle chiropractic is helpful.
